I don’t think I need a gender for people to learn about who I am. Who I am, and the social construct of gender, are two different things. If gender didn’t exist, I’d still have a personality. People think gender=having a personality. I don’t agree. Personality traits are simply personality traits. We have just been brainwashed into thinking that a boy acts like this and a girl acts like that–and it’s a hard and fast rule that we ALL must abide by. I don’t live my life that way, and I don’t see any reason to. I’m certainly not doing it for the comfort of society. They’ve been wanting me to conform for 36 years, but guess what? They have not succeeded!
